It’s Not a Family Without the Dogs

I’m fortunate to have a former student who’s taken up photography, so she’s been doing our family portraits for the last few years. Yesterday, it was time for another session. We met her at her mom’s house in the country, hoping for an idyllic snowy backdrop. Alas, thanks to climate change, we got drizzle rather than snow.

Outdoor photos were our only option since the indoors were full of family holiday preparations and a dog who wouldn’t look kindly upon intrusion by OUR dogs. Brittany seemed a little skeptical, but all’s well that ends well: We may have FELT like drowned rats by the end of the photo shoot, but thanks to Brittany’s skill, we looked surprisingly presentable.

Court and Lily weren’t thrilled about posing for photos, but they grudgingly produced one photo with both dogs facing the camera.

And getting a little wet was totally justified. After all, it’s just not a family without the dogs.
