Life in a Cone

We all know that the world’s turned upside down and that many businesses have closed their doors.

Unfortunately for Lily, our local vet clinic wasn’t one of those businesses: I had a longstanding appointment to get her spayed on Thursday, and by golly, they honored that appointment. They even removed a stubborn baby tooth while they were at it.

The surgery went swimmingly, and she came home the next morning, a little groggy but neatly stitched up. Alas for her, the stitches meant that she’s doomed to wear the Cone of Shame until they come out, and she’s none too happy about it.

Sometimes it takes a global pandemic to disrupt a previously happy existence.

Sometimes it takes a cone.

But neither will be with us forever.
