The Elusive Muse

My Muse has proved elusive for the last few weeks—hence my cyber-silence.  Day after day she sits dutifully at the Community Foundation where I work, staring at a screen and typing important things. She does her job well and faithfully, but when I step out of the office at the end of the work day, she zips off to drink ambrosia in a celestial bar somewhere. She’s certainly no longer with me by the time I get home.

But I’m ashamed of breaking my resolution to write more before the year’s even four months old, so I’m trying to get back into the habit. Unfortunately, my computer seems opposed to this plan—apparently, it enjoyed its long and quiet rest—so it suddenly shut down for updates as soon as I’d begun to type. It seems mollified for the moment, but my motivation has fled—even the obscenities I aimed at my machine weren’t particularly creative—so I’m going to content myself with sticking up an adorable boy and dog photo and call it a day.

Maybe I’ll see if I can score some ambrosia.

  2. Welcome back – I had wondered where you’d gone. But I see you have a busy life and young son. By the way, the link to your work doesn’t work. I thought you may want to check it out.

Nice to see you back in cyber land again, Rebecca.

Haven’t heard from you for a while… wondering how your Grandmother, Naomi, is doing.

  4. Sometimes it just happens like that. She will return 🙂
